I find it strange that a game that is so relatively unknown to the usual gaming and console masses happens to also be the best selling game worldwide. Currently this figure stands at 7 million worldwide at time of writing and is set to continue with the release of World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade.

The now cult MMORPG title is becoming to PC's what GTA 3 was to the PS2. Serious!

The main attraction to World of Warcraft is the community atmosphere that is part of playing. By playing it online, it is like the Internet itself in that it has bought the players and opponents closer together. Think of it as a video game concert where everybody is interacting together at once in a large area.

The addictiveness of world of warcraft has been very well documented recently in world press. For example a couples two year old kid in Thailand died when the parents neglected and didn't feed it as instead carried on playing a marathon world of warcraft marathon in an internet café. Sad I know, though such is the pull of this game and the affect it has on its players, this is only one of many hard to believe stories related to people becoming addicted to world of warcraft. The game has even been likened to class A narcotics!

In conclusion [if you haven't already!] go and sample the genius world of warcraft, it is fast becoming legend, though please - do be careful if you have an addictive personality!
